Shopping for plus size intimate apparel gifts can be a bit of a pain. Sure there’s plenty of pretty lingerie and robes available in “core” sizes, but most of it doesn’t come in sizes suitable for larger figures. Part of the problem is that the patterns don’t easily upscale after a certain point. Plus, depending on the garment, a larger body can require stronger underwires, heavier mesh, and different fabrics in order to get enough support or to stretch in different directions (depending on body shape). The other challenge is producing garments that are proportioned correctly. A robe designed for an hourglass figure won’t fit someone who is more pear-shaped and carries weight in the hips. If you're apple-shaped, you need more fabric around the middle.
