Posture Support Bras to Help Relieve Back and Shoulder Pain

Image
The band of your bra should do most of the work supporting your breasts. However, if you have a large, heavy bust or have back pain from an accident or arthritis, that may not be enough. Posture support bras can help ease the strain, and reduce the stress on your back and shoulders. These posture bras have wider backs (and straps) than standard bras, almost like the back of a tank top. This helps relieve the pressure on your chest and shoulders, redistributes the weight, and reduces the pain you feel from having a larger bust. If you sit at a desk or stand most of the day, a posture bra can help you stand or sit straighter. On the other hand, if your job, or daily life requires a lot of heavy lifting (I'm thinking babies and toddlers here), a posture bra will also give you better support as you move around. Luckily for me, my dexterity was still OK, and the underwire in the racerback bra didn't bother me. However, if you're an elderly woman,  you've probably lost some mobility, or are struggling with loss of dexterity.  It may be harder to put your bras on, harder to close them, and the underwires may have become irritating. Or, you might suffer from back pain and find you can't stand up as straight as you used to. Fortunately, there are comfortable b...
