Bras with Side Boning Support that Hold Up Larger Busts

Image
If you're larger busted, you probably need extra support in your bra.  Women with smaller busts don't need bras with side support slings and boning, but if you're a D or bigger, or you have a full bust on a small frame, you'll need more support than a plain bra can give. This is why, sadly, larger bras rarely come in a demi-cup.  There's just not enough bra to hold everything in. The band should do most of the work, but if you have a big bust, and need a larger cup size, you'll need a bra with slings, panels, or boning (or all three!). This means either a piece of fabric under the arm, or at the bottom  of the cups.  Boning or extra panels on the side move you forward (better projection and less east-west); extra support along the bottom of the cups will help lift and support your breasts.  Slings that go entirely around the cups give you more projection, push in from the sides, and push your breasts forward. Bras with Fully Adjustable or Short Straps for Petite and Shorter Women

Image
If you have a short upper body, you'll need a bra with short straps.  The trouble with most standard bras is that the straps are too long for you.  Not only will that make it hard to adjust them properly, it also means the straps are likely to slide off your shoulders. First, make sure you're wearing the right band size.  Larger band bras tend to have longer straps. Sometimes a smaller band can help fix the problem. Just make sure it's not too small; you don't want to get squeezed! Another trick is to try a bra with a J-hook in the back. That will effectively shorten the straps as they are pulled closer together. If that isn't enough, here are some bras made with short or fully adjustable straps. I have grouped them so you can find the right style to fit your bust size and body shape (average bust, small bust, full bust, and full figure). These are best if you are short between your shoulders and the top of your bustline. If you are truly petite, then you'll nee...

Finding flattering Valentine's Day lingerie for your body type is a bit harder.  If you're small busted, you have to wade through stacks of bras that are too big.  Full figured and you're often stuck with beige (and maybe plain black). Bras for Short Torsos That Won't Dig Into Your Stomach or Fall Off Your Shoulders

Image
Having a short torso often means that bra straps are too long for you.  It can also mean that the bands on many bras dig into your stomach. Ouch! It's no fun constantly fiddling with slipping, sliding straps, or having to pull, tug, or fuss with your bra all day.  There are, fortunately, some ways to avoid these problems. There are two things that can make a bra uncomfortable when you are short (particularly if you are short from your shoulders to your bustline). The first is those dratted too-long straps.  The second is the band under the cups. How to fix this? There are three ways to solve these problems.  The first is to get a bra with straps that are fully adjustable.  Then you can move the little slider as far up or down (depending on the construction) as you like. The second is to look for bras without bands (and definitely no long-line bras, they will be even more uncomfortable). No band means there's nothing to dig into your stomach. A third option is a ...
